Beau the Brittany pup belongs to a friend of mine from Pennsylvania. I met John at the Southeastern Wildlife Art Expo in Charleston, South Carolina, and he was looking for somebody to paint a portrait. I could tell he was very pleased with his young dog and he described him like a proud parent would. He had photographs of Beau in several poses and I chose this one for my subject. The photograph didn’t show what Beau was pointing, so I added the grouse in the lower corner. Beau is probably old by now, but I’ll bet he has enjoyed many hunts in Greene County in the great grouse country of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
