My experience with grouse has consisted of a little hunting and a lot of looking and most of both have taken place in Greene County, Pennsylvania on the West Virginia border. The drive through farms and wooded hillsides and the anticipation of time spent in the outdoors is always a pleasant part of the day, and I never fail to notice the highway sign that points to Ruff Creek with it's community store and a few surrounding houses. I don't know if Ruff has anything to do with Ruffed grouse but Ruff Creek seems to be in the heart of grouse country.
